Home Play Library

The packages that a child checks out of the Home Play Library consist of a book with a variety of activities about that book, such as a game with pieces that I have created to go with the story.   Every book and activity will also come with an evaluation scale and suggestion section.  The subjects of the Home Play Library will include math, history, science and family living, along with their alphabet.
In this day and age preschoolers must be prepared to enter kindergarten.
My role as an educator is to bring knowledge to the children in any way I can.
I have 25 children in my class; every day the children approach me to borrow my classroom books.  My school is open Monday thru Friday 6:30 - 6:00; a lot of my children spend an 11 hour day there.  Their parents do not always have the time to go to the town library during the week.  One of my students loves history.  We talk about electricity and how Ben Franklin thought it might be used one day for light.  This student went home and convinced his parents to go to Philadelphia to see the historical landmarks that interested him on these subjects.
My philosophy of teaching is to touch on many subjects, so that when they are in upper grades and the teacher asks a question, my students have the confidence to raise their hands and approach the subject with an answer.
